Privacy Policy
Effective August 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Hunter Allen Price (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use Deutsch at https://deutsch.hunterallenprice.com/ (the “Service”).
1. Information handled by the current Service
Learning progress and preferences. The Service stores answers, mastery data, review schedules, custom vocabulary, settings, and similar learning information in your browser using local storage and IndexedDB. If you sign in, a copy is synchronized to your account so it can be restored on another browser. Browser storage remains available as an offline cache.
Hosting information. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, may process ordinary request and security information such as IP address, browser and device details, requested pages, timestamps, and diagnostic or security events when delivering the Service.
Speech features. Pronunciation uses speech synthesis supplied by your browser or operating system. Deutsch does not request microphone access or record your voice.
Accounts. Passwordless sign-in processes your email address, an account identifier, authentication-session information, and synchronized learning progress. Supabase provides authentication and account storage. A secure sign-in link is sent to the email address you provide.
2. How information is used
- To provide exercises, scheduling, progress summaries, backup, and restore features.
- To remember your settings on your device.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Service.
- To comply with applicable law and protect users, the Service, and others.
3. Cookies and browser storage
We do not currently use advertising cookies or third-party analytics. The Service uses browser storage because it is necessary to remember your learning progress and settings. Clearing site data, using private browsing, or certain privacy settings may erase that local copy. Use the backup feature if you need a portable copy.
4. Sharing and sale of information
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be processed by service providers that help deliver or secure the Service, including Cloudflare for hosting and Supabase for authentication and synchronized progress. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or as part of a business transfer where permitted.
5. Retention
Browser-stored learning data remains until you reset Deutsch, clear the browser’s site data, or remove it through browser controls. Signed-in progress remains while your account is active or until it is deleted following a verified request, subject to limited provider backups and any retention required by law. Hosting and security records are retained only as long as reasonably necessary for operation, security, troubleshooting, and legal obligations.
6. Security
We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. Never send a password, private key, or other sensitive information through the custom-vocabulary feature.
7. Your choices and rights
You can export, reset, or delete locally stored progress through the Service and your browser controls. Signed-in users may request deletion of their account and synchronized progress using the contact information below. Depending on where you live, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability of personal information processed by us. We may need to verify your identity.
8. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect account information from children under 13. Do not enable public email registration for children until you have determined and implemented the parental notice, consent, retention, and deletion requirements that apply to your audience. Users below the age of legal majority should use the Service only with permission from a parent or guardian.
9. International use
The Service may be accessed and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on provider safeguards and legally recognized transfer mechanisms for international processing.
10. Changes
We may update this Policy as the Service changes. We will revise the effective date and provide any additional notice required by law.
